    Resident engineer’s legacy lives on at Kentucky Lock

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 9, 2016) – The resident engineer for one of the Nashville District’s largest and longest projects, the Kentucky Lock Addition Project, passed away unexpectedly July 27 from natural causes, a shocking loss to the Corps of Engineers, the district, the resident and project office teams, and many, many friends, family, colleagues, and contractors who knew and served with him.

  • Carolyn Bauer, a former Lake Cumberland park ranger who recently retired from the Corps in March with 35 years of service, talks March 13, 2013 as an honorary display wall is unveiled to commemorate the service of park rangers at the Lake Cumberland Visitor's Center. She called Wallace Halcomb, who was honored, a great teacher, a mentor and a fun-loving family man. Current and former park rangers, employees, family members and friends commemorated the service of park rangers over the decades as environmental regulators and guardians of historic lands.

(Feb. 28, 2013) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineer, Nashville District employees at the Lake Barkley Resource Center, Lock and Dam hosted Students and faculty from the University of Tennessee at Martin Hydrology and Hydraulics class for a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math tour today.
  • This is Dale Hollow Dam Feb. 26, 2013. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District electricians at Dale Hollow Dam on the Obey river are working on a Sustainability Program Initiative project to replace the contracted local utility power source to the resource managers office, maintenance shops, and transient quarters with direct power from the Dale Hollow Power House.
