    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 7, 2018) — An alliance of state, federal and non-governmental partners are sponsoring a free public workshop 9:30 a.m. to noon central time Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at the Leslie Town Center in Cookeville, Tenn., to show participants how to develop their own small businesses to sell heat-treated firewood to fill increasing demand at campgrounds in Tennessee and Kentucky.

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District plans to set its first 1.3-million-pound concrete shell Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 that will form a part of the downstream cofferdam for the new lock under construction at Kentucky Dam, a Tennessee Valley Authority project. Lifting and setting this massive concrete shell represents a critical milestone towards completion of the new 1,200-foot-long navigation lock and involves techniques never previously attempted.

(May 10, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and Tennessee Valley Authority invite the public for a free tour of Chickamauga Lock at Tennessee River mile 471 in Chattanooga, Tenn., Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018. Four groups of 25 will be able to tour the facility at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required for all tour guests (including minors).

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 10, 2018) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites the public for a free tour of Cheatham Lock, Dam and Hydropower Plant in Ashland City, Tenn. Free tours for the general public are Saturday, July 21; and Saturday, Sept. 8. Tours of the facility are limited to 45 persons and each tour begins at 11 a.m. Central Time. Pre-registration is required for all tour guests, including minors. The deadline to register is seven business days prior to scheduled tour. Personal information collected during sign-up is used for security background checks.
