  • Nashville District recognizes fleet achievements ahead of reorganization

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 18, 2016) – The repair fleet in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, a mainstay of the Twin Rivers since the 1800s when crews first began opening the region’s waterways to navigation onboard canoes, flatboats and keelboats, is marking the end of an era as people and resources are reorganized into a regional light fleet Oct. 1, 2016.
  • Resident engineer’s legacy lives on at Kentucky Lock

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 9, 2016) – The resident engineer for one of the Nashville District’s largest and longest projects, the Kentucky Lock Addition Project, passed away unexpectedly July 27 from natural causes, a shocking loss to the Corps of Engineers, the district, the resident and project office teams, and many, many friends, family, colleagues, and contractors who knew and served with him.

(Aug. 8, 2016) – The congressman serving Tennessee District 3 who serves on the House Committee on Appropriations and the Energy and Water Subcommittee donned a pair of rubber boots Aug. 3 to get a close look at the dewatered Chickamauga Lock on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tenn.
  • Corps unveils policy for operation of unmanned aerial systems at Nashville District projects

    Nashville, Tenn. (Aug. 5, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has a new policy that governs the operation and use of recreational unmanned aerial systems (UAS) at all Nashville District lakes within the Cumberland River Basin.
