    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 28, 2012) – Local, state, and federal emergency management agency’s swarmed LP Field today to participate in a simulated mass casualty exercise involving a Titans football game scenario.

    Congressmen favor opening funding flow for Chickamauga Lock

    Lakes gain merit for significant water safety programs

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 21, 2012) – Despite tightened project budgets and limited resources, two Nashville District lakes were nationally and internationally recognized recently for their staffs’ creative and resourceful efforts to increase public safety during the 2011 recreation season.

    Exploratory drilling brings out benefits of partnership between districts

    SILVER POINT, Tenn. (March 14, 2012) – A drill rig crew from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District extracted core samples here today that are being closely examined by Nashville District geologists at Center Hill Lake near what is known as the Saddle Dam. However, the exploratory drilling is revealing more than just the condition of rock formations; it’s also bringing out the benefits of the two districts partnering together to explore the movement of water seepage through the karst geology in the area.

    Prep students shadow Nashville District engineers

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 9, 2012) – Experiencing the “day in the life” of an engineer, two sophomores from Montgomery Bell Academy participated in a shadow program today with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Engineering Branch.

    Nashville District gets down to business

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 8, 2012) – More than 200 business owners and reps from as far away as California traveled to the Tennessee State University Avon Williams Campus today to garner information on federal, state and local procurement systems. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District small business, contracting, engineering and operations experts got down to business, using the event to explain Corps project opportunities to participants of the Small Business Training Forum.
