    Jones becomes 65th commander of Nashville District

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 7, 2017) – Lt. Col. Cullen A. Jones took command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District today during a change of command ceremony at the Tennessee National Guard Armory. He becomes the 65th commander of the famed “Twin Rivers” district in the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division.

    Nashville District recognizes fleet achievements ahead of reorganization

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 18, 2016) – The repair fleet in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, a mainstay of the Twin Rivers since the 1800s when crews first began opening the region’s waterways to navigation onboard canoes, flatboats and keelboats, is marking the end of an era as people and resources are reorganized into a regional light fleet Oct. 1, 2016.

A dozen U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District employees were recognized for their actions to keep navigation locks and hydropower plants operating when rural roads were treacherous and made it difficult for personnel to report to work.     Corps begins hydropower rehabilitation at Center Hill Dam

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (Sept. 9, 2015) – Disassembly of hydropower unit two is about to get underway at Center Hill Dam, which is the first of 28 units in the Cumberland River Basin to be rehabilitated as a result of a Memorandum of Agreement with the Southeastern Power Administration and power customers signed in August 2011 that provided a funding stream for the work.
