    ORBIT stakeholders navigate Kentucky Lock Addition Project

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (May 19, 2023) – The Ohio River Basin Inspection Tour visited western Kentucky this week where stakeholders of the basin highlighted healthy and productive ecosystems, reliable flood risk management, and resilience of the Ohio River waterway system for inland navigation. They also navigated to the Kentucky Lock Addition Project for a construction update and better understanding of how the larger lock will help unlock congested commercial barge traffic.

    Dispose trash properly when visiting Corps lakes

    Visitors at Corps lakes go boating, fishing, swimming or maybe just relax on the shoreline. All these activities are perfectly fine until one particular thing happens - littering. When this disgraceful activity happens then the good time turns into "trash pickup time."

(March, 3, 2016) — Every year thousands of people in the United States mourn the loss of loved ones who could have survived if they had been wearing a life jacket while spending time on or near our nation’s waters.     Lake Cumberland marina earns ‘clean marina’ flag

    NASHVILLE, TENN., (Sept. 14, 2015) – With the sound of marine boat motors in the background, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District presented a ‘Clean Marina’ certification flag to a Lake Cumberland marina during a brief ceremony Sept. 10, 2015. Conley Bottom Resort in Monticello, Ky., became the first marina on Lake Cumberland to earn the distinguished certification.
