NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 28, 2012) – Holly Boland, a budget analyst in the Resource Management office, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for May 2012.
Commending her for her superior performance in a variety of tasks in the Resource Management Office, Vicky Goostree, budget officer, said Boland wears many hats and strives for perfection in each area of responsibility with a dedication that is unmatched.
“She is the budget analyst for the general and administrative organizations and the district’s manpower officer, the financial liaison between the Corps and the General Services Administration, and she is our resident Corps of Engineers Financial Management System technical expert,” Goostree said.
Boland recently juggled the mid-year operating budget revision, the fiscal 13 Corps of Engineers Manpower Systems manpower requirements, the Army Authorizations Documentation System for fiscal year 2014, numerous non-routine data calls regarding the G&A study, reviewed the Unliquidated Obligation Review for all general and administrative offices, plus daily operations, according to Goostree.
“Each of these tasks has its own set of problems but Boland handled each with efficiency and effectiveness,” Goostree said. “She worked with each G&A office to whittle down the fiscal year 2012 budget to meet our regional goals, which was no small feat in light of budget constraints, “must pay” third party bills and the $1.1 million drop in direct labor.”
Boland’s willingness to go the extra mile, shouldering additional workload because it needs to be done for the good of the organization, has won the praise of superiors, peers and subordinates alike, according to Nancy Manahan, Resource Management chief.
“Her initiative, professionalism, dedication to mission execution and superior performance make her the ideal employee,” said Lt. Col. James A. DeLapp, Nashville District commander. “She is a credit to the Nashville District, the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.”
Boland has been a Corps employee for nearly 24 years, including 20 years in the Nashville District.
When the opportunity permits, she enjoys relaxing at a South Carolina beach.
