HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District at Old Hickory Lake has announced that all Rockland Recreation Area shelters have been added to the National Recreation Reservation Service gateway.
Information, fees, interactive maps and photos of each of the shelters, as well as, reservations (up to 12 months in advance for Rockland Recreation Area shelters only) can be made by visiting the NRRS online reservation site at http://www.recreation.gov or by calling the toll-free reservation line at 1-877-444-6777 (10 a.m. to midnight Eastern Standard Time).
“The NRRS gateway is a simple and convenient system already familiar to many of our visitors” said Crystal Tingle, resource manager at Old Hickory Lake. “By adding the Rockland Recreation Area shelters to the system, all of our reservable group shelters and campsites at our Lake can be reserved by visiting one place or making one phone call.”
Shelter keys for the kitchen in Shelter No. 2A will still need to be picked up 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Resource Manager’s Office the week prior to a weekend reservation.
All Rockland shelter reservations obtained prior to the shelter launch date on the NRRS gateway will be honored and have been transferred to the new reservation system.
