NR 12-022: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces land survey at Cheatham Lake

Published June 28, 2012

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (June 28, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces an upcoming land survey project at Cheatham Lake.

Beginning in mid-July, the Corps will have contract surveyors on site to verify Cheatham Lake existing boundary line monuments and property line locations.  This work is in response to the May 2010 flood, which caused severe erosion along portions of the stream and river banks.  This survey will find and re-establish missing property corners on the lake in an effort to determine how much lake shore was lost to erosion.

The adjacent land owners in areas being surveyed will be contacted soon to be informed of approximate dates surveyors will be in their area.  All survey personnel will be clearly recognizable by company shirts and will gladly provide identification upon request.

Adjacent land owners are encouraged to contact the Resource Management staff via mail at Cheatham Lake, 1798 Cheatham Dam Road, Ashland City, TN 37015-9805, or call (615) 792-5697 for additional information.
