NR 19-034: Public meeting on proposed Lake Cumberland marina expansion

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 12, 2019) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites the public to a meeting to discuss  the Lake Cumberland Marina expansion proposal, 6:30 to 9 p.m. CDT, Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Salem Elementary School in Russell Springs, Ky.

The Salem Elementary School is located at 1409 KY-76, Russell Springs, Ky., adjacent to the intersection of KY-76 and KY-910 near the Eli community. The public meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. CDT in the school gymnasium.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with an overview of the development project and an opportunity to comment on the proposed expansion of Lake Cumberland Marina to the Russell County Park and Recreation area. 

Eastern Kentucky Operations Manager Michael Lapina said that this meeting gives the public the opportunity to hear from the developer and allows the Corps of Engineers to gather public comments.

Written comments and requests will be accepted at the meeting, and can be emailed to or mailed to the Lake Cumberland Resource Manager’s Office at 855 Boat Dock Rd, Somerset, Ky., 42501.  All comments and requests must be received by the Resource Manager’s Office no later than Friday, June 21, 2019 to be considered.
