(March 25, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the Lake Cumberland Visitor’s Center in Somerset, Kentucky, is reopening to visitors Thursday, April 1, 2021. The office previously only accepted visitors by appointment only as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • NR 21-12: J. Percy Priest Lake public-private partnership being evaluated to improve outdoor recreation

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 23, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is taking initial steps to assess if there is private sector interest in leasing the Cook Recreation Area on the shoreline of J. Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, Tennessee, to provide the public with improved outdoor recreation opportunities.
  • NR 21-11: Waitsboro Recreation Area closing for road repairs

    SOMERSET, Ky. (March 18, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is closing Waitsboro Recreation Area at Lake Cumberland for roadway repairs March 19-24, 2021. The boat ramp and parking lot will not be accessible by the public at this time. The recreation area is reopening to the public 8 a.m. March 25, 2021.
  • NR 21-10: Floating Mill Recreation Area closing for maintenance

    SILVER POINT, Tenn. (March 17, 2021) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is closing Floating Mill Recreation Area at Center Hill Lake Thursday, March 18, through Sunday, March 21. The ramp, shelter, beach, and restroom facilities are not accessible due to maintenance and restriping of parking lots. The recreation area will be fully reopened to the public 8 a.m. March 22, 2021.

    CARTHAGE, Tenn. (March 12, 2021) – Cordell Hull Lake is set to open both Defeated Creek and Salt Lick Creek Campgrounds in the coming weeks.
  • NR 21-08: Corps of Engineers Day Use Pass purchases go digital

    CELINA, Tenn. (March 11, 2021) – The Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Passes for the expiration year of 2022 are now available for digital online purchase. Each annual pass is valid one year from the date of purchase and costs $40.
  • NR 21-07: Recreation area fees resume March 15 at Center Hill Lake

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (March 10, 2021) – Center Hill Lake, which is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, is resuming the collection of fees at its day use recreation areas for the 2021 recreation season beginning March 15, 2021.  Fee collection was previously suspended during 2020 due to COVID-19.
  • Army Corps of Engineers requires face masks at all recreation projects

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reminds all visitors, volunteers and employees that a face mask is required in all USACE buildings and facilities. Masks must also be worn outdoors on USACE-managed lands and recreation areas if physical distancing cannot be met, such as when hiking on trails or visiting sites that may be popular or crowded

The office previously only accepted visitors by appointment only as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
