Corps help Wounded Warriors transition back into work
Army Spc. Kurt Phillip from the Operation Warfighter program at Fort Campbel places books on a shelf in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District libray on Jan. 29, 2013. Phillip works as a Library assistant and has severe arthritis resulting from multiple operations to his knees which will potentially cause him to be medically discharged. Operation Warfighter is the first professional transition program active wounded warriors can experience and USACE’s Nashville District is applying it on a group scale. Nashville District partnered with Fort Campbell office where district personnel initiated an active recruiting campaign, interviewing wounded warriors at the base’s WTU for OWF intern positions.
