Day Use Fees

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Cumberland charges a day use fee at selected areas. The recreation areas on Lake Cumberland charging these fees are Waitsboro, Fishing Creek, Cumberland Point, Halcomb’s Landing, Kendall and Fall Creek. These areas offer some or all of the following: playgrounds, boat launching ramps, bathrooms, picnic sites and picnic shelters. The day-use fees are $5.00.

America the Beautiful pass holders can enter these recreation areas for free as long as their pass is properly displayed in a hang tag.   

A paid camping permit from a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground, when properly displayed, will entitle the holder to use any designated day use facility without paying the day user fee on the day for which the camping permit is valid.

Corps of Engineers Day Use Annual Pass

Annual Passes cost $40.00. The Day Use Annual Pass is valid for one calendar year from the date of purchase. For example, a Day Use Annual Pass bought in April of 2018 will be valid until April of 2019.

  • Cumberland Point Recreation Area

America the Beautiful Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series

Accepted by Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 

A pass is your ticket to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites. 

The following options are available for purchase from the Lake Cumberland Resource Manager's Office. Each of these pass options will serve to satisfy the required day use fee at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed recreation areas, including day use parks and boat launches, when properly displayed in a clear hang tag.

ATB passes do not grant access into Corps of Engineers campgrounds.

Interagency Annual Pass

Interagency Annual Passes cost $80.00 and provides entrance to more than 2,000 recreation fee areas from the date of issue.This pass is accepted by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

U.S. Military Annual Pass

Military Annual Passes are available FREE of charge and are available to current U.S. military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, as well as most member of the U.S. Reserves and National Guard. Proper military ID is required (CAC Card or DoD Form 1173).

This Pass can be obtained at the Lake Cumberland Resource Manager's Office.

4th Grade Annual Pass

4th Grade Annual Passes are available FREE of charge and are valid for the duration of the 4th grade year through the following summer. For example, a pass would be valid from the September the child enters 4th grade until August the following year. The pass is available for U.S. 4th graders (including home-schooled and free-choice learners 10 years of age) with a valid Every Kid in a Park paper pass.

These paper passes can be obtained by visiting the Every Kid in a Park website and can be exchanged at the Lake Cumberland Resource Manager's Office.    

Senior Pass

Annual Senior Passes cost $20.00 and are valid for one calendar year after purchase. The Annual Senior Pass is available to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents who are 62 or older.

Lifetime Senior Passes cost $80.00 and are valid for the Lifetime of the pass owner. The Lifetime Senior Pass is available to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents who are 62 or older.

Both senior passes grant the pass holder a discounted rate of 50% at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds.

The price of the America the Beautiful Senior Pass increased from as a result of the Centennial Legislation P.L. 114-289 passed by the U.S. Congress on December 16, 2016. Please note the following:

  • (4) Annual Senior Passes, purchased in consecutive years, can be exchanged for a Lifetime Senior Pass.
  • All Senior Passes purchased prior to this legislation will remain valid for the Lifetime of the pass holder.

Access Pass

Access Passes are available free of charge for applicants of any age who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents that have been medically determined to be permanently disabled (does not have to be a %100 disability rating). Applicants must provide documentation of permanent disability and residency or citizenship. An Access Pass will grant the pass holder a discounted rate of 50% at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds.

* The America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes replaced the Golden Passport Program on December 31, 2006. Golden Passports are still honored at Corps recreation sites, but are no longer be issued by the Corps.
