Day Use Fees

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Barkley charges a day use fee at selected recreation areas. The areas on Lake Barkley charging these fees are Kuttawa Day Use and Bumpus Mills Day Use. These two areas offer sand swimming beaches, playgrounds, launching ramps, bathrooms, picnic sites and picnic shelters. The fees are $2.00 per person with a maximum of $4.00 per vehicle per day; kids under 12 are free.  Canal Day Use is a launching ramp only and is $5.00 per vehicle per day. Current Golden Age and Golden Access Passport holders and America the Beautiful Interagency Senior & Access Pass holders will receive a 50% discount on these fees.  A photo id must accompany the pass to receive the discount.

Payment of the fee will permit the use of similar day use facilities at any Corps project on the date of payment. A paid camping permit from a Corps operated campground will entitle the holder to use any designated day use facility without paying the day user fee on the day for which the camping permit is valid.

Annual Passes

Day Use Annual Passes are available for sale at the Lake Barkley Visitors Center, Canal Campground, Bumpus Mills Campground, and Kuttawa Day Use Area. Annual Passes cost $30.00. A half-price discount is given for the holder of a Golden Age/Access Passport or of an America the Beautiful Interagency Senior or Access Pass. The Annual Pass is good at all similar day use facilities at any Corps project.

Note: Not all recreational facilities on Lake Barkley are operated by the Corps of Engineers and thus the recreational fees charged, if any, are not necessarily compatible.

We regret that we cannot honor the America the Beautiful Interagency Annual Pass. It is issued by federal agencies (including the National Park Service) who charge entrance fees and is an annual pass for entrance fees only. The Corps does not charge entrance fees, only use fees.
