Call toll-free 1-877-444-6777 between 10 a.m. to midnight Eastern Standard Time to make a reservation. Please note call centers are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. You can also get information and make reservations online here at Recreation.gov.

Ragland Bottom Campground will be open for the 2022 recreation season April 14 through October 31.  Gates close 2:30pm CST on November 1st.

 

FIREWOOD ALERT  

To help prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Boer and other forest pests, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is prohibiting firewood that is non certified heat-treated firewood.  When camping or picnicking at this recreation area, puchase your firwood from a vendor who sells certified heat-treated firewood.  Do not bring firewood from home.  Visit Firewood Scout or Don't Move Firewood for further information.

Welcome to Floating Mill!

The Floating Mill Registration Center hours are:

Mon. & Thurs. 11 am to 5 pm

Tues. & Wed. CLOSED

Fri. & Sat. 10 am to 7 pm

Sun. 12 noon to 6 pm

If the Registration Center is closed when you arrive please select a non-reserved site and return to register for your stay during the hours listed above.

The Floating Mill Campground and Day Use Area is located 5 miles South of  I-40. The campground offers 115 sites.

 

Directions:

From Smithville:  from the intersection of U. S. 70 and State Route 56, follow State Route 56 north (Cookeville Highway) 9.5 miles and turn left to Floating Mill – Hurricane Marina. (The road will be the first on the left after passing the scenic overlook.) Follow signs to the park.

 

From I-40:  Exit 273 and follow State Route 56 south 3.4 miles and turn right at the Corps of Engineers sign for Floating Mill Park / Hurricane Marina
