NR 20-018: Nashville District beaches, picnic shelters in Tennessee reopening June 12

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 10, 2020) – As part of a phased approach for reopening recreation facilities following COVID-19 closures, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is opening additional Corps-managed day use recreation areas and amenities on June 12, 2020.

NR 20-011: Center Hill Recreation Area opens today

LANCASTER, Tenn. (May 8, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Center Hill Recreation Area, located adjacent to Center Hill Dam, is once again opening for public use beginning Friday, May 8, 2020. Center Hill Recreation Area has been closed since 2008 as a result of construction activities related to the Center Hill Dam Rehabilitation Project.

NR 19-051: State highway over Center Hill Dam closing for maintenance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 12, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the section of State Highway 141/96 that crosses over Center Hill Dam in Lancaster, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16-19, 2019 while workers conduct maintenance.

NR 19-042: Long Branch Campground closing early for construction project

NR 19-041: Center Hill Lake's Ragland Bottom Day Use Beach reopens

NR 19-040: Center Hill Lake beach closed due to high E.coli levels

(Aug. 16, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces the immediate closure of Ragland Bottom Day Use Beach at Center Hill Lake in Smithville, Tenn., due to E.coli detected in the water. Buzzards are suspected and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Service technicians have been contacted for support.

The area is still open for picnicking and boat launching. No other beaches at Center Hill Lake are affected.

NR 19-002: Center Hill Lake level lowering for Ike Park boat ramp

(Feb. 1, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is actively lowering Center Hill Lake to construct the lower portion of a two-lane boat ramp at Eisenhower “Ike” Park in Lancaster, Tenn. The Corps is restoring the recreation area located upstream from Center Hill Dam that it closed in 2008 due to the dam safety rehabilitation project.

NR 17-025: Congressionally mandated senior pass price increase takes effect Aug. 28

WASHINGTON – In order to meet requirements set by legislation passed by Congress in December 2016, the price of the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass will increase from $10 to $80. The change will take effect August 28, 2017. Pass holders are given lifetime access to more than 2,000 sites and parks. The fee increase will support critical investments in maintenance projects at national parks and federal recreational lands nationwide.
