Nashville District CQM Class for Contractors

CQM Class for Contractors"Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors" is a two-day class that discusses the combined effort of the Contractor and Government in achieving quality work in accordance with the plans and specifications, on time, within a defined budget, and in a safe work environment. The relationship joins together distinct roles between the Contractor's Quality Control (CQC) and the Government's Quality Assurance (QA) responsibilities. All construction contracts now require contractors to provide a CQC staff of sufficient size to assure the completed project meets the quality standards established by the contract.

The individual responsible for the CQC staff is the CQC Systems Manager. The CQM course provides the training and certification required to implement the Three-Phase Control System (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up Phases). CQM certification is a contract requirement in all construction contracts and is valid for five years from the date of CQM training. 

Upcoming Classes

The 2022 schedule is as follows:

March 1, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and March 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Registration deadline is Feb. 22, 2022.

May 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and May 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  - Registration deadline is May 3, 2022.

Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Registration deadline is Oct. 11, 2022.

Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Registration deadline is Dec. 6, 2022.

Location: The training is conducted at Cafeteria B in the Estes Kefauver Federal Building Annex located at 110 9th Avenue South, Nashville, TN, 37203.

Notes: Notes:  The class will occur over a two-day period.  Class will begin each day promptly at 8 a.m.  Class will end on day one between 3:30 and 4 p.m.  Class will end of day two no later than 1 p.m. Please click on the link and print the required nine modules.  Bring these to class with you.

No training materials or writing utensils will be provided at the class.  Students are required to download and print the CQM training materials if they wish to utilize a hard copy of the material during class and shall bring their own pen or pencil for test taking.  Students can also bring a laptop; however, internet is limited.      

The Estes Kefauver Federal Building and Annex is a secure facility.  All students will be required to pass through Security every time they enter the facility.  The closest entrance to Cafeteria B is the 9th Avenue entrance to the facility.  In accordance with COVID-19 requirements and unless otherwise noted, all students will be required to wear a face mask at all times when inside the federal building, including during the class. Additionally, anyone entering the federal building will be required to have their temperature taken.  Those exhibiting above average temperature will not be allowed to enter the building.

Parking in downtown Nashville near the federal building is limited.  Students are encouraged to arrive early to provide enough time to find a parking space and pass through security.  The class starts promptly at 8 a.m.
