Nashville District Mission Statement: We serve the region, the Corps, and the Nation by providing collaborative water resource engineering solutions, world class public infrastructure management, and environmental stewardship for the Cumberland-Tennessee River Systems.

MISSION AREAS of the Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

  • Navigation
    Responsible for navigable waterways in the Cumberland and Tennessee River Basins.
     
  • Flood Damage Reduction
    Providing services for reduction of damages caused by flooding with structural, non-structural and operational means.
     
  • Hydropower
    Power generation at nine multipurpose projects in the Cumberland River Basin.
     
  • Environmental Stewardship
    Protection, preservation, restoration and improvement of natural resources under our care and for our customers.
     
  • Recreation
    Providing recreation opportunities created by our reservoirs in the Cumberland River Basin.
     
  • Emergency Response
    Timely support to the Nation when natural disasters or national emergencies occur.
     
  • International and Interagency Support (I2S) previously SFO (Support for Others)
    Providing engineering and construction products and services on a cost-reimbursable basis for other government agencies.
