Locks Not Forgotten Project

The Nashville District Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a year-long, part-time program that develops and grows future leaders for the Corps of Engineers.  Leadership "theory" and "practice" meet face-to-face as participants form teams to work on projects that focus on challenges and opportunities facing the Nashville District.  Teams identify projects and advocates, develop project proposals, identify required resources, develop timelines, gain approvals, prepare project reports and recommendations, and brief District leaders.

In 2001, one LDP team proposed a project primarily focusing on preservation of the "old Lock" sites on the Cumberland River and related
