    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2015) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is enlisting the support of volunteers at its lakes on the Cumberland River and its tributaries in support of National Public Lands Day Sept. 26.
  • NR 15-031: Conley Bottom Resort dedicated as a Clean Marina

    NASHVILLE, TENN., (Sept. 9, 2015) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District supports marina operators and owners who are voluntarily striving to protect the water resources of the Cumberland River Basin by going “clean and green” such as Conley Bottom Resort in Monticello, Ky. On Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, the Corps, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Cumberland River Compact, and Conley Bottom Resort will celebrate the marina receiving their new flag to designate them as a “Clean Marina.”
  • NR 14-033: Chickamauga Lock to reopen the end of next week

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 31, 2014) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District plans to reopen Chickamauga Lock to all navigation traffic as early as Thursday, Nov. 6. An inspection of the upper gate anchorage and a repair plan were completed today.
  • NR 14-008: Corps offers tours of Dale Hollow Lake Power Plant

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 6, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering the public free guided tours of the Dale Hollow Power Plant in Celina, Tenn. These are the first tours of the power plant since the Corps restricted visitations after 9-11. Not all portions of the dam will be accessible to the public due to safety concerns.
  • NR 14-005: Fish and Wildlife Service completes Biological Opinion and the Corps approves plan to raise Lake Cumberland water level

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 25, 2014) – Working closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers over the past few months, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on Monday finalized the Biological Opinion that clears the way for the Corps to resume normal operations at Lake Cumberland immediately.
  • NR 13-050: Old Hickory Lake Shoreline Management public workshop rescheduled

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 22, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District invites the public to attend one of two Shoreline Management Plan public workshops scheduled for Jan. 14, 2014 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Gallatin High School, Gallatin, Tenn. and Jan. 16, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Mt. Juliet High School, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
  • NR 13-045: Nashville District to reopen recreation areas by 3 p.m. Oct. 17, 2013

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2013) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District will reopen all day-use parks and 11 campgrounds normally open at this time of the season no later than 3 p.m. today.

    OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (Aug. 2, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Old Hickory Lake invites the public to lend their support in the restoration and refurbishment of local public lands by giving a helping volunteer hand on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Rockland Recreation Area, Hendersonville, Tenn. and at the Shutes Branch Mountain Bike Trail located within the old Shutes Branch Campground, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
