Nashville District employees reminisce about Tener’s tenure

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 28, 2012) – The district engineer who led the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District in the late 1970s returned to the headquarters today to meet with leaders, learn about current missions and projects, and reminisce with several employees who were here during his tenure.

EAGLE class makes equestrian campground maintenance its mane project

Granville, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2012) – Upkeep of recreation areas, campgrounds and hiking trails often depends on volunteers who care deeply about the nation’s natural resources and want them to be there for their children and generations to come. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s EAGLE Class learned that important lesson of volunteerism today when they rolled up their sleeves and got their boots dirty at one of Cordell Hull Lake’s primitive horse trail campgrounds.

Cheatham Lock closing for repairs Oct. 16 through Nov. 15

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Cheatham Lock will be closed to all river traffic from 6 a.m., Oct. 16, through 6 p.m., Nov. 15, 2012, to permit major maintenance repairs to hydraulic and mechanical equipment damaged during the 2010 flood along with other routine maintenance.
