    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 24, 2018) – Financial expert Dave Ramsey from the Dave Ramsey show is partnering with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers this Memorial Day weekend to encourage his fans to be safe on the water and to wear a life jacket.

    Corps encourages boating safety during Memorial Weekend, National Safe Boating Week

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. May 22, 2018 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is proud to promote National Safe Boating Week, May 19-25, the official launch of the 2018 Safe Boating Campaign and encourage boaters to wear their life jackets and practice water safety. This yearlong campaign promotes the value of voluntary, consistent life jacket wear by recreational boaters.
  • Country Music Artist Tanya Tucker recently partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to produce a public service announcement encouraging her fans to wear their life jackets. She had her first hit, "Delta Dawn", in 1972 at the age of 13. Over the succeeding decades, Tucker became one of the few child performers to mature into adulthood without losing her audience, and during the course of her career, she notched a streak of Top 10 and Top 40 hits.

    MONTICELLO, Ky. (May 28, 2011) – Kentuckians arrived in droves here today at Mill Springs Mill to see the many craft booths, enjoy music performances, and to eat “hoe” cakes during the 18th Annual Cornbread Festival. They also came for bags of cornmeal on sale at the gift shop, and watched as the largest overshot waterwheel in the world turned and ground corn for the masses.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 12, 2011) – Memorial Day and boating season is fast approaching. With the warm weather, boaters are anxious about firing up the grill, setting up a tent with the family and getting out on the lake. Before launching a boat for the first time this season, take the time to check for all the required safety equipment, especially life jackets, and make sure all equipment is still in good condition.
