    Nashville District deputy district engineer culminates impactful career

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 11, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District honored its retiring deputy district engineer yesterday. Few people were physically present due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements, but more than 120 employees, leaders, and friends joined the ceremony virtually to make sure they recognized Patty Coffey’s impactful career and unique blend of strong and caring leadership.

    Berm construction completes last repair phase for dam rehabilitation

    SILVER POINT, Tenn. (July 1, 2020) – Officials celebrated completion of the last phase of repairs for the $353 million Center Hill Dam Safety Rehabilitation Project today where the Corps of Engineers recently finished constructing a roller compacted concrete berm to reinforce the auxiliary dam at Center Hill Lake, a secondary earthen embankment that fills a low area in the landscape just east of the main dam.

    Nashville District lauds Supervisory Training Program graduates

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 3, 2019) – A group of new supervisors graduated today from a course designed to equip them with necessary tools to effectively manage resources, lead the workforce, and undertake all related supervisory tasks.

    Leadership Development Program Level II class graduates

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 4, 2018) – A dozen personnel with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District graduated today from the second level of the Leadership Development Program during a ceremony at the Scarritt Bennett Center.

    Patty Coffey is the deputy district engineer for the Nashville District. She also serves as the Chief of the Planning, Programs, and Project Management Division. She assists in directing all the water resource activities of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers throughout the Cumberland River Basin, and navigation and regulatory matters in the Tennessee River Basin, an area of more than 59,000 square miles, with 49 field offices touching seven states and a work force of over 750 federal employees.

    Coffey becomes new deputy district engineer

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 26, 2017) – The commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District recently announced that Patty Coffey, acting deputy district engineer, will permanently fill the position, the highest civilian leader in the organization.
