    SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 25, 2018) – More than a year after deadly wildfires ravaged Gatlinburg and Sevier County, Tennessee, the state’s Silver Jackets team is grappling with the catastrophe in hopes of saving lives and properties as emergency managers plan for future disasters.

    Memphis, Nashville districts hold partnering meeting for Tennessee

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 19, 2017) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis and Nashville districts held a partnering meeting today to build a stronger relationship leading to better service for the state of Tennessee.

    Mansker Basin study to support flood preparedness

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 31, 2017) – The Tennessee Silver Jackets team announced today that a one-year study of the Mansker Basin is underway to develop real-time simulation modeling for Sumner and Davidson Counties and the cities of Nashville, Millersville, Goodlettsville and Hendersonville.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. Silver Jackets is an innovative program where multiple state, federal, and sometimes tribal and local agencies learn from each other and apply knowledge to reduce risk to natural hazards. Program goals include improved communication, facilitation of actions to reduce vulnerability and consequences of flooding, creation or supplement of mechanisms to implement or recommend solutions, leverage of available resources, and development of comprehensive regional flood risk management strategies.

    Tennessee kicks off ‘Silver Jackets’ with local, state, federal partners

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2013) – Local, state and federal partners kicked off Silver Jackets today at the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency Headquarters. Tennessee officially becomes the 40th state to join the program that provides a formal, consistent and unified approach to planning and implementing measures to reduce the risks associated with flooding and other natural hazards.
