    McConkey named Nashville District Employee of the Month for January 2020

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 26, 2020) – Chrystal McConkey, a maintenance control technician, assigned to the Operations Division, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District employee of the month of January 2020.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District places concrete for the first monolith on the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project Oct. 17, 2019 on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee. At the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project, aa Tennessee Valley Authority project, the Nashville District is currently executing the lock chamber contract for the new 110-foot by 600-foot navigation lock, which includes 285,000 cubic yards of reinforced concrete.     Hydropower experts generate information exchange in Music City

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 21, 2017) – More than 100 hydropower experts from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tennessee Valley Authority, Southeastern Power Administration, and private power supply companies benefited from an exchange of information during the 40th Annual Joint Hydropower Conference April 19-20 at the Inn at Opryland.

    Nashville District celebrates Earth Day

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 23, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District educated members of the public today about clean power, sustainability, water quality and environmental stewardship.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 18, 2015) – Touting environmental stewardship, members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District educated the public today about clean power, sustainability, restoration, water quality and water management at the Nashville Earth Day Festival in Centennial Park.

    A 16-foot replica of an 1888 Muscle Shoals Map is on display at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District's Barlow Conference Center in the Estes Kefauver Federal Building in Nashville, Tenn. The Nashville District librarian recently worked with the Tennessee State Library to restore and preserve the original map.

    Nashville District showcasing historical maps from 1800s

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2014) – An 1874 military map of Middle Tennessee and 1888 map of Muscle Shoals were recently restored and replicas of them are now being showcased in the Barlow Conference Room located at the headquarters of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District.

According to an Associated Press report following the event about 2,000 people attended. Tricia Nixon Cox, daughter of President Richard M. Nixon, was the keynote speaker at the dedication.

    Nashville District celebrates its 125th Anniversary

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 15, 2013) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is celebrating 125 years of service to the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers Basins and to the Nation that began when the district was created Aug. 18, 1888 under the command of Lt. Col. John W. Barlow.
