    OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (June 7, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is offering public access to Old Hickory Navigation Lock located at Cumberland River mile 216.2. The lock is accessible to visitors seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. now through Sept. 3, 2018.

  • NR 15-027: Open house set on board Motor Vessel Mississippi in Chattanooga

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 31, 2015) – The public is invited to an open house on board the Motor Vessel MISSISSIPPI when it is docked at Ross’s Landing in Chattanooga from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7. The vessel is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ largest diesel towboat and flagship to the Mississippi River Commission, which is inspecting Tennessee Valley Authority and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District projects along the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers as part of the commission’s annual low water inspection trip.

  • NR 14-023: Corps to allow public access to Cheatham Navigation Lock

    ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 8, 2014) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announced today that it is offering public access to Cheatham Navigation Lock beginning Aug. 11, 2014. The lock will be accessible to visitors seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Sept. 30, 2014.

  • NR 13-011: Public invited to Wolf Creek Dam Barrier Wall Completion Ceremony April 19

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 10, 2013) – The public is invited to a barrier wall completion ceremony 10 a.m. April 19, 2013 on the work platform at Wolf Creek Dam near Jamestown, Ky., to celebrate this milestone with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, its contractor Treviicos-Soletanche Joint Venture, and other local, state and national officials expected at this event. Dignitaries will speak and initiate the ceremonial last concrete placement on the barrier guide wall, which signifies the official completion of the barrier wall installation.

  • NR 13-004: Nashville public information meeting rescheduled for Feb. 5, 2013

    NASHVILLE, TENN. (Jan. 16, 2013) – The public information meeting on restricted areas around dams that was cancelled last night due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. The meeting will remain at the McGavock High School Auditorium located at 3150 McGavock Pike in Nashville, Tenn.

  • NR 12-040: Corps schedules public workshop on reducing operating hours at Guntersville Navigation Lock

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2012) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has scheduled a public workshop from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at the Best Western Plus Lake Guntersville Hotel, 2140 Gunter Avenue, Guntersville, Ala. 35976-2114 to discuss reducing the hours of operation at the Guntersville Navigation Lock effective Jan. 7, 2013.
