    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 12, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Bell Road across J. Percy Priest Dam is closing 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, May 18-20, 2020, for routine operational maintenance.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 22, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District at J. Percy Priest Dam & Reservoir is offering two free guided tours of the J. Percy Priest Hydroelectric Dam in celebration of the reservoir's 50th anniversary. Dam tours will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. There is a limit of 25 people per tour.
  • NR 17-39: Road closure scheduled across J. Percy Priest Dam

    (PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION TO DATES OF CLOSURE) NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 26, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Bell Road will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday from Nov. 6 through Nov. 17, 2017 where the roadway crosses J. Percy Priest Dam. The closure is required for scheduled operational maintenance on the dam.
  • NR 16-012: Lower water level at J. Percy Priest Lake due to lack of rain

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 19, 2016) – Due to lack of substantial rainfall in the past months, U.S. Drought Monitor classification has much of the Cumberland River Basin including the Stones River Watershed in the Moderate Drought category. Currently, J. Percy Priest Lake’s elevation is approximately three feet below the top of summer pool, and without significant rainfall the lake may not reach its typical summer elevation of 490 feet above mean sea level.

    NASHVILLE, TENN. (Sept. 24, 2015) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Bell Road over J. Percy Priest Dam is closing to all traffic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 6-8, 2015 while maintenance personnel perform a routine inspection of the bridge.
