    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2018) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announced today that it expects higher levels and flows along the Cumberland River this week due to releases from Corps dams over the next three days, even though the weather is expected to be dry during this time. The dry weather is allowing the Corps to continue regaining storage in upstream reservoirs. The stage at Nashville will rise approximately four feet from a stage of 31 feet to near 35 feet today and remain elevated through midweek. The flow currently at Nashville is more than 40 million gallons of water per minute.
  • NR 17-40: Lake Cumberland’s Lakeview Boat Ramp closing for season

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the Lakeview Boat Ramp at Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Ky., officially closed yesterday. The boat ramp area will be used for the Corps of Engineers’ debris collection program for staging and processing large wood collected from Lake Cumberland and its shoreline.

    JAMESTOWN, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that traffic crossing Wolf Creek Dam at Lake Cumberland will be subject to one-lane, one-direction control from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19, 2017 while maintenance personnel perform a routine inspection of the bridge.

  • NR 16-013: Surface drainage correction requires lane closure on Highway 127 across Wolf Creek Dam

    Jamestown, Ky. (May 20, 2016) – During a road restoration project on Highway 127 over Wolf Creek Dam, contractors found a pocket of voids on Monday at the edge of the roadway, the result of surface drainage erosion. The Corps’ engineers have been on site since then to determine the most efficient and timely solution in order to reduce the extended lane closures currently in effect for the project.
