    LANCASTER, Tenn. (May 8, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Center Hill Recreation Area, located adjacent to Center Hill Dam, is once again opening for public use beginning Friday, May 8, 2020. Center Hill Recreation Area has been closed since 2008 as a result of construction activities related to the Center Hill Dam Rehabilitation Project.

(April 23, 2018) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is hosting a public scoping meeting 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Buffalo Valley Community Center to present information to the public regarding a current Dam Safety Modification Study (DSMS) to further reduce risk at Center Hill Dam.
  • NR 17-042: Water lines replacement scheduled at Dale Hollow Dam Campground

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 14, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that work to replace water lines at Dale Hollow Dam Campground in Celina, Tenn., begins Dec. 18, 2017, making it necessary to close public access. The work is scheduled to be completed in March 2018, weather permitting.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Center Hill lake levels will remain lowered and targeted at elevation 630 mean sea level for 2018, and will likely remain at that level several more years until recently identified main dam spillway gate issues can be fully evaluated.

(Sept. 8, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that traffic crossing Center Hill Dam will be subject to one-lane, one-direction control from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21, 2017 while maintenance personnel perform a routine inspection of the bridge.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 4, 2017) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District and Thalle Construction Company, construction contractor, will discuss upcoming blasting operations near Center Hill Dam during a public meeting 5:30 p.m. May 9 at the Resource Manager’s Shop Conference Room located just below the dam at 158 Resource Lane in Lancaster, Tenn.
  • NR 15-019: Nashville District highlights its notable projects leading into National Dam Safety Awareness Day

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 29, 2015) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has two notable engineering projects to its credit in recent years to stop seepage through the embankments of Wolf Creek Dam in Jamestown, Ky., and Center Hill Dam in Lancaster, Tenn. In conjunction with National Dam Safety Awareness Day May 31, 2015, the district is highlighting the major effort it took to construct concrete barrier walls deep into the foundations of these dams.

(May 18, 2015) – Officials celebrated the completion of a barrier wall in the main dam embankment of Center Hill Dam during a ceremony today at the work platform on top of the dam. The $115 million foundation barrier wall is a key component of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Center Hill Dam Safety Remediation Project.
