    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 19, 2020) – In the interest of public safety, and in accordance with Center for Disease Control recommendations, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is taking the following precautionary measures to assist public health efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2020) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has received approval to return Center Hill Lake to normal operations, which means that lake levels will be on the rise for the upcoming recreation season.

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (Jan. 17, 2020) — The Lake Barkley Resource Manager’s Office invites the public to attend one of three public workshops and provide input concerning the upcoming Lake Barkley Shoreline Management Plan five-year review.
  • NR 20-001: Dale Hollow Dam Road closing for scheduled maintenance

    CELINA, Tenn. (Jan. 15, 2020) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces Dale Hollow Dam Road at the dam in Celina, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. CST Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 while personnel perform scheduled maintenance. The road is expected to re-open Wednesday Feb. 12, 2020 at 5 p.m., CST.
  • Army Corps of Engineers to use one website for volunteer opportunities in 2020

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that beginning Jan. 1, 2020, the agency’s Volunteer Clearinghouse website will no longer be operational. All future volunteer opportunities at USACE-managed recreation areas will be posted to only the federal interagency website www.volunteer.gov.
  • NR 19-051: State highway over Center Hill Dam closing for maintenance

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 12, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the section of State Highway 141/96 that crosses over Center Hill Dam in Lancaster, Tenn., is closing to all traffic 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16-19, 2019 while workers conduct maintenance.
  • NR 19-050: Public workshop for Cordell Hull Lake’s Master Plan Revision scheduled

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces a public workshop is being held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 at the Cordell Hull Lake Resource Manager’s Office in Carthage, Tenn. The staff is also available from noon to 4 p.m. during an open house to discuss possible changes and receive comments.
  • NR 19-049: Bio-acoustic fish fence now operational at Barkley Lock

    GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2019) – Officials commissioned a bio-acoustic fish fence, an experimental project, during a ceremony today at Barkley Lock. Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell and Congressman James Comer, Kentucky 1st District, along with project partners, ceremonially inaugurated the BAFF system as part of a three-year evaluation to deter Asian carp from migrating through the navigation lock and further up the Cumberland River.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 30, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that the Cordell Hull Lake staff is seeking applicants for the 9th Annual Defeated Creek Youth Deer Hunt.
  • NR 19-047: Fishing Creek Campground, boat ramp closing Sept. 30, 2019

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Fishing Creek Campground and boat launching ramp at Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Ky., are closing Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 for road repairs and repaving.
