NR 13-012: Wolf Creek Dam Ceremony location changed and security measures increased

NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 18, 2013) – The Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is changing the location for the Wolf Creek Dam Completion Ceremony on Friday, April 19 due to forecasted severe weather early Friday morning that will preclude setup. The District is also increasing security measures for the ceremony.

The new location is the Russell County Schools Auditorium/Natatorium.  The ceremony time is also being moved from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Central Standard Time  The Russell County Schools Auditorium/Natatorium is located at 2167 U.S. 127, Russell Springs, Ky. 42642.  Doors open at 9 a.m. CST.

Added security measures are being implemented at this large public gathering due to the Boston bombings. All persons and vehicles entering the Russell County Schools Auditorium/Natatorium property are subject to search.  No firearms or weapons are allowed on the property.  Violators may be subject to prosecution.

All bags, backpacks and personal carry items will be searched by law enforcement or security personnel before attendees will be allowed to enter the auditorium.  The public’s cooperation is appreciated during this time of increased security levels.
