During heavy periods of rain, Lake Cumberland accumulates tons of human-imposed debris every season. Waitboro Recreation area catches the brunt of debris, trash, metals and plastic that deposits chemicals into the water and threaten the habitat for aquatic species and birds in Kentucky and beyond.
