A rediscovered segment of the Trail of Tears on Twin Forks Horse Trail near the East Fork Recreation Area in Smyrna, Tenn., now has signs that mark the area where Cherokee Indians passed through the area in 1838 on the way to Indian Territory in present day Oklahoma.
